The Sorted Food Team laid out a fantastic weekend full of entertainment, fun and of course cooking. The “Boys” Jamie, Barry and Mike together with the three Chefs Ben, Kush and James have been sent on a mission to liberate the land through a daring infiltration of the Queen’s castle. Facing lots of challenges from exotic tasty to elisive techniques, they had to overcome sabotage from a hidden traitor within their group.
Friday
On Friday they did a pre show with lots of background information and of course, the handing out of the envelopes in which each of them found a card to tell if the person is the traitor or not.

Saturday
On Saturday then, it all started with a funny thing where the three Normals had been taken away one of their senses. On could not hear, one could not see and one could not speak. That was really funny as having no visuals while cooking is probably the worst sense taken away.
After that there was a not so interesting quiz show about when in time a certain food or ingredient was found or invented. But if you like food history, it should be fine.
The Pass-It-On battles are the most fun to watch. The order is random and no one is allowed to watch before what the other one is doing. So a bit o your time goes away by finding out, what the person before you has done or better, what he has not done. This is so funny as all the chefs and normal cook different and some of them have their distinct ways of handling this challenge. This was also the time where the traitor could do a lot of sabotage work and we thought it would be one of the chefs, as e.g. Ben, behaved so not Ben-like. Very suspicious.
After that was the cook-a-long which we also took as a chance to make some dinner. We did not cook the same as advertised but still interesting to learn something new.
The last two segments of that day where a pokerface where the boys loved so much because of Jamie looking like Gandalf. Hilarious with some really strange and horrorious foods for them to try.
After that was Cursed Kitchen Escape Room which was funny as they had to solve riddles and cook at the same time to escape the room. Very nice and very entertaining.
Sunday
The Sunday started nice with a two chef challenge where they handcuffed them main hands together. James’s left and Ben’s right arm. The task was, of course, to cook a dish but every 5 minutes the were given a new ingredient which makes preparation and the direction a challenge.
After that we could watch amazing Kush again to cook on a Vulcanus grill putting skewer inside an arabic bread, together with pork belly and a traditional thing grilled inside banana leafs inside hot coal. He is an amazing cook and very calm and relaxed when cooking. I really love watching him making incredible things out of food.
After a fantastic hour with Kush we cam embark to another quiz show from Ben. It was better than the one on Saturday but just not my type of entertainment I want to watch. Still, a lot of people in the chat had a lot of fun answering the questions.
Next up was Potion-Mixing-A-Long with the Normals who made their favorite drinks. Very interesting drinks made out of interesting ingredients I did not know exist. Definitively watching it again to note down some of the things to remake them.
After a break the they did a new show where all six chefs start and one by one getting voted out by the community to have the last one finishing the whole thing. This was fun to watch as you could see the Normals starting to panic.
But the thing a lot of people where looking for was the Game of Groans from Jamie and Kush. The performance was so nice, i really almost fell from the chair by laughing so hard.
Before the finale they had another challenge for the bosse to make the chefs favorite dishes for the daughter and the twins of Evil Queen Janice. The most fun part was actually was the revealing of who the daughter and the twins were. This was so good.
The grand finale was again a Pass-It-On. It was the Battle of the Banquet where they had to create six dishes for the folks of the kingdom. This was the most bizarre chefs behavior of the two days. And without spoiling who the traitor was, the chat was sure that Kush was the traitor. It was so strange to watch his performance. But all the chefs did not perform very well. So… it was unclear who the traitor was till the end.
Finale
This was our first live event with Sorted Food and it was amazing. We really enjoyed it and I can only recommend to watch their shows and learn and increase your cooking skills. It is a fantastic journey and we really enjoyed watching it. Definitivly not our last live event.
If you hurry, you can still buy tickets to re-watch the event.
